TEXAS GRIT
America was founded by those seeking freedom from an oppressive government...but over two hundred years later, things have radically changed. Today, the places in this country where that unfettered independent spirit lives on are quickly disappearing. Two families in Texas have made it their life's mission to preserve and pass on a way of life taught to them by their forefathers while safeguarding the land they have lived on for centuries.
In the menacing Big Thicket region of East Texas, generations of the Eason and Droddy families have thrived homesteading on the land along the Neches River. However, over the last few decades, the Eason’s have lost their property to timber companies and the government in a relentless pursuit to push them off their land. Determined to preserve their freedom, Bud Eason is on a path of redemption to do whatever it takes to get back the land that he believes to be their birthright. 20 years later, The Droddy clan is facing the same challenge the Easons faced. The timber companies’ continue to march south towards the Droddy’s land, bringing these remote families on the opposite end of the river symbolically together to preserve the life they’ve made along the river.
